The Chicago Union’s Open Tryout serves as a premier Talent Identification Camp for emerging players looking to compete at the highest level of ultimate. This is your chance to showcase your skills directly in front of the Union’s coaching staff, current roster members, and team leadership. Whether you’re a recent college player or club athlete, this is the best opportunity to get noticed and enter the Union player pool for 2026 and beyond.

Oct 15-24: $45 

Oct 25 - Nov 7: $55

WHY WE MOVED TRYOUTS TO NOVEMBER

We’ve moved this year’s open tryouts earlier to create a better experience for athletes and staff alike. Holding tryouts in November means more reliable outdoor field conditions and daylight hours, while players are still in game shape from their college and club seasons. It also allows us to offer more affordable registration, since outdoor field rentals are significantly cheaper than winter indoor facilities. Finally, this earlier timeline gives our coaching staff more time to evaluate, plan, and prepare the roster heading into the 2026 season.

After registering, you’ll receive a pre-tryout survey via email to provide background and playing experience details. Please complete this promptly so we can plan the best tryout possible.

All participants will receive a Union tryout shirt as part of registration.

Bring a white and dark jersey, cleats, and plenty of water. The tryout will be held outdoors, so please dress in layers and prepare for fall weather conditions.

While not required, it is highly recommended that all players attending the Open Tryout have had a physical within the past year and have clearance to participate in an athletic event of this nature.

Open to all athletes 18 years and older. All individuals trying out for the Union must register here to be considered for the 2026 roster. Select individuals will be invited to continue on to the closed tryout.
